Terms

The short version: use it, keep backups, and ask if anything goes wrong.

Last updated 10 October 2026.

Using Plainkeep

You may download and use the free version of Plainkeep on any number of Macs, for personal or work use, at no cost.

The Pro licence

A Pro licence is a one-time purchase. It lets one person use Plainkeep Pro on up to three Macs at a time, for as long as they like, including the updates to version 1. To use it on a different Mac, deactivate it on one you no longer use.

Please do not share, resell or publish your licence key. A key that is refunded or charged back stops activating.

Buying

Purchases are made through Lemon Squeezy, which is the seller of record and handles payment, tax and receipts under its buyer terms. Prices are in US dollars; local tax is added at checkout where it applies. See Refunds for how to get your money back.

Your notes

Your notes belong to you and stay on your Mac. Plainkeep saves carefully and keeps five earlier versions of its file, but no software is perfect: keep your own backups, for example with Time Machine. If you lock the file and lose the password, nobody can open it again.

No warranty

Plainkeep is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits or indirect damages arising from its use, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits rights that the law of your country does not allow to be limited.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be on this page with a new date. The terms you agreed to when you bought Pro continue to cover that purchase.
