Privacy
We collect nothing. Your notes never leave your Mac.
Last updated 10 October 2026.
Your notes
Plainkeep keeps your notes in one file on your Mac, or in whatever folder you move it to. If you put that folder in iCloud Drive or Dropbox, those services sync the file under your own account and their own privacy terms. We never receive a copy.
The app has no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, advertising or update checks, and it loads no fonts or other files from the internet.
The one thing the app sends
When you activate or deactivate a Pro licence key, Plainkeep sends a request to Lemon Squeezy, which issues and checks the keys. It contains:
- the licence key you entered, and
- your Mac's name, as set in System Settings → General → About, so the key's list of Macs shows which one holds each of its three places.
Nothing else is sent: no notes, no file names, no usage. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy covers what they do with the request.
When you buy Pro
Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record and handles payment, tax and receipts. Your card details go to them, not to us. They share your name, email address and the details of your order with us, and we use those only to send your licence, answer support requests and issue refunds.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party scripts. The note demo on the home page runs in your browser and sends nothing. The company that hosts the site keeps standard request logs, such as IP address and browser, to keep it running and secure; we do not use them to identify or follow anyone.
If you write to us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and answer follow-ups, and we delete it if you ask.
